Tonight I was riding with some friends from church and we got pulled over (cause the driver just moved here and didn't have plates). The police were far from courteous...once they saw our mexican friend (what a great brother in Christ he is!), they gave him nothing. They left us white kids alone, but seemed to be pulling out all the tricks on him. Unfortunately, he had no ID on him. Soon enough, they had him cuffed and in their cruiser. We were let go, after the driver was issued a ticket.

Fast forward 15 minutes. We called where he's staying (the police went there to get some ID). Turns out his visa is expired. My heart sank (drowned). What will happen?

At 7:30, we were laughing.

At 10:30, I was so full of anxiety that I was shaking, as if cold.

God, Your will be done. I desire his release, but I know You'll work through him wherever he is. Bring Your peace that surpasses all knowledge and understanding to Isaac, Amanda, Alicia, and all others involved. I know you love those officers (they, too are your creation, however marred by sin--as am I--and objects of Your perfect Love). Forgive their arrogance, brashness, anger, and lack of understading, patience, or trust (I know how they must be so hardened to lies and deceit that they come into contact with daily).

What a world we live in, where good is indistinguishable from evil, and a piece of paper supposedly reveals a man's heart!

God forgive me, I have hated a brother while he has taught me love.

Free will is a double-edged sword. Scars abound.
