Simply belonging to (and agreeing with) a group of believers who reject the faceless, shallow nature that pervades modern ("mainstream") Christianity does not instantly make me immune to those things. If I do not practice love and honesty, I will not have them. It is 100% possible to become the principles/choices I am rejecting.
